All of these cranes undergo a rigorous testing and servicing regime to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Founded by Bernie Johnson and Toni Jessop, Norwest Crane Hire has deep roots in the Pilbara, and a long history of association and support of Wanpara’s fellow Founding Partners and Directors. Yilkari Cranes

Yilkari Cranes is a 100% proudly Indigenous-owned company that operates in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. Yilkari Cranes delivers tier-1 lifting solutions for the mining, minerals and industrial sectors in Western Australia.

Founded by Directors Bill Coffin and Jardine Pitt, and with over 50 years of combined crane industry experience, Yilkari bring a unique blend of cultural heritage and industry expertise to every project they undertake.

Yilkari is steadfast in delivering premier service to the Crane Hire, Mining, Construction and Transport sectors across WA. Yilkari delivers efficient and reliable crane and rigging solutions during critical maintenance shutdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless operations.

Thajarruka

Thajarruka, is proudly owned by Corbin James Richard Todd, working alongside his father Peter Todd.  Corbin is a proud Kariyarra/ Banjyma Traditional Owner who has lived and worked in the Pilbara for over 20 years.  Thajarruka is a 100% Traditionally Owned dry hire crane business that was newly formed to provide opportunities for the Kariyarra/ Banjyma communities.

Stanley “Bill” Coffin is a proud Palyku and Nyamal man born in Port Hedland and the inaugural Chairman of Wanpara.

Bill has been in the crane industry since 1994, having started with Brambles and having worked with Boom Logistics, Rio Tinto and Norwest Crane Hire.

Bill’s in-field experience has covered crane operations through to supervision. Bill is a partner in Yilkari Cranes with Jardine Pitt and between them have 60 years’ experience in the crane industry. Bill has a passion and intent to make a difference in the Pilbara region.

Jeanette Collins is an experienced business operations professional with over 15 years of expertise in crane, rigging, transport and logistics support.

Proud of her Indigenous heritage, Jeanette is connected through her ancestry to the first peoples of the Victoria River region in the Northern Territory and the Beagle Bay community in Western Australia.

With extensive experience in business administration, operational coordination, compliance support and project administration, Jeanette has built a reputation for delivering efficient systems, streamlined processes and dependable organisational support.

Jardine Pitt is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Yilkari Cranes, with more than 25 years of crane, mining and industrial experience.

A proud Torres Strait Islander, Jardine has built a strong reputation within the industry through his operational expertise, leadership and commitment to delivering safe and reliable lifting solutions across the Pilbara and wider region.

Together with Stanley “Bill” Coffin, Jardine founded Yilkari Cranes to create sustainable Indigenous-led opportunities and support long-term regional growth.

Bernie Johnson

Director

Bernie has over 30 years’ industry experience across the crane, construction, oil and gas, and mining industries.

He began with Brambles Industrial Services in 1995 and worked his way up to Operations Manager, Port Hedland.

In 2004, he moved to Boom Logistics as Northwest Operations Manager before founding Norwest Crane Hire in 2008.
